A week of daily lesson plans from 11/13 to 11/17, focusing on excerpts from Romeo and Juliet. Includes a reading activity using MTSS-grouping and the beginning of my students’ Sonnet Project - tailored from Skyline curriculum.

Black History Month Do-Now slides used to create conversations and reflections on impactful Black authors, activists, and scientists.

An example of the weekly slides I created for my Poetry Club, from 11/8. Includes two poems that we read aloud, a writing prompt, and a slam poetry video.

Character Analysis Essay slides used to introduce students’ final project for my Woven in Moonlight unit. Breaks down their character analysis essay into parts and provides model examples.

Student Teaching Materials

  • Hamlet Multimodal Unit

    A unit plan with three multimodal lessons that occur at the beginning, middle, and end of a unit engaging with Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

  • Hamlet Performance Assessment

    The project description and rubric for a performance assessment connected to my Hamlet Unit. Used to evaluate students on their understanding and performance of Shakespearean language.

  • The Crucible Unit

    A unit (including essential themes and questions, standards, lesson plans, and a culminating project) made during my student teaching semester. I was able to incorporate many of the lessons and the final assessment into my own classroom.

  • Peer Review Lesson Plan

    This lesson, given during my early field placement, guides students through a peer review of their op-ed essays. Slides are included for visual representation.

  • Annotated Bibliographies Lesson

    This lesson, given during my early field placement, helps define annotated bibliographies; models writing an annotation; and leads my students through constructing their own. Slides are included for visual representation.

  • Topic Sentences Lesson Plan

    This lesson, given during student teaching, describes effective topic sentences. I first modeled writing a topic sentence within the context of a paragraph, and then supported students through writing their own.

  • Introductions and Theses Lesson Plan

    This lesson, given during student teaching, defines the elements of introductions and thesis statements. My students were able to practice creating their own and shared in small-groups and with the whole class.
